Life Story

de Ravin's career in performance began at the age of nine with ballet. At 15 she was accepted into the prestigious Australian Ballet School where she did a number of performances. After her ballet days she studied acting at Australia's National Institute of Dramatic Art and The Primetime Actor's Studio in Los Angeles.

Her acting career surged as de Ravin moved to Los Angeles, landing a role on the television series "Roswell" within a month after moving there. She followed that show up with roles in a TV remake of the horror classic "Carrie" and as a heroin addict in the movie "Brick." In 2004 de Ravin struck gold by being cast as Claire Littleton on Lost. In 2006 she made her major motion picture debut as Brenda Carter in the horror film "The Hills Have Eyes."

In June of 2006 de Ravin was married to actor Josh Janowicz. However, only six months later in January of 2007 de Ravin filed for separation against Janowicz, making them the first celebrity couple of the year to appear to be divorcing, but it never made it to divorce and they are still happily together.
