Valery was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico and raised in Orlando, Florida, then moved to Los Angeles, California. Valery’s first big break came hosting the “anything goes” kids show SPLAT! on Nickelodeon. Ortiz is a series regular on The N show South of Nowhere playing queen bee Madison Duarte and recently starred in the comedy Date Movie (2006). She had a role on the shortlived TV show What About Brian and has co-anchored E! News Now a daily broadband show E! Online. Ortiz was “One of the Top 25 Latinas of 2006” from Maxim en Español. Her latest movie role was in From a Place of Darkness (2008).
Currently she lives in L.A. She enjoys reading, hiking, decorating, and writing.
