Paris Hilton is the girl that needs no introduction. Everybody in the world knows of her, nobody is really sure why they know of her, and most people wish they didn’t know of her at all. She’s the most famous of those that are famous for being famous (others in this category include bff Kim Kardashian, Nicole Richie, and sister Nicky Hilton). Paris has been picked apart by the media for her bad behavior and for being a terrible example for young girls. She has even been named the number one worst celebrity of all time (AOL poll). All of this almost makes you feel sorry for Paris until you remember how stinking rich she is.

The Paris Hilton Life Story

Paris is the heir apparent to the vast Hilton hotel and real estate dynasty. From a very young age she has had the dream to be in front of the cameras at all times, and amazingly enough her dream came true. After attending the exclusive Buckley School in Sherman Oaks, CA and being asked to leave, it was at the time Hilton turned twenty one she was well known by all of the paparazzi in the business. By the time she was twenty five she had made one of the hottest selling videos in Hollywood. Of course it was a home made porno flick with Rick Solomon. She starred in the hit reality TV show The Simple Life (2003) with Nicole Richie. After the success of this show Hilton went on to star in movies, such as House of Wax (2005), and release pop albums, such as Paris (2006), the latter included the single Stars are Blind. She then applied to be part of the 2 girls 1 cup video but because she is so full of crap, they denied her.

She found herself in hot water this past year when she was busted for driving drunk. This led to her incarceration in Lynn Wood prison in Los Angeles for twenty-three days. Surprisingly, this event didn’t get much attention from the media (please note the dripping sarcasm). Since being released she has pledged that she is a changed woman who only wants to help the world become a better place. But she also plans to release another album, so we don’t know what to believe.

How Did Hilton Become Famous?

While her sister, Nicky, has had some time in the spotlight, it’s really Paris who has made a career out of being famous. It’s sometimes hard to remember exactly what she’s done to make her so famous, but here are a few things to refresh your memory.

The Hilton Modeling Career

If you aspire to be a model, it probably doesn’t hurt to be a Hilton heiress caught on camera at all those exclusive parties. She quickly jumped from the pages of tabloids to the pages of GQ and FHM and worked for designer labels.

The Hilton TV Career

One thing led to another, and Hilton soon found herself yearning for other forms of the media spotlight. So, in this age of reality TV, it made sense for her to have her very own reality TV show. She decided to take Nicole Richie, another famous rich girl, along for the ride. For some strange reason, the show was a smash hit and continued on for five seasons, despite one network change and a falling out between Richie and Hilton.

Hilton has also made appearances, both as an actress and as herself, on a variety of TV shows that include My Name Is Earl with fellow hot chick Jaime Pressly, and Veronica Mars.

The Hilton Singing Career

Yes, Hilton wants to be a pop star too. Her first album, Paris, had a lukewarm reception from critics and fans alike. But not to worry, that hasn’t stopped her from announcing that she will be making a second album to be released sometime in the very near future.

The Hilton Party Girl

When it comes down to it, Hilton really gained and has maintained her fame by being a party girl and doing it all in the spotlight. She loves the red carpet and the paparazzi love taking pictures of her on that carpet.

Who Hilton Has Dated and Almost Married

No biography of a Hollywood starlet is complete without a mention of who she’s dated, or in Hilton’s case, almost married. The most infamous is, of course, Rick Solomon. Other former boyfriends include Nick Carter and Stavros Niarchos III. The former fiancés include Jason Shaw and another Paris, Paris Latsis. More recently, Hilton has been out and about with Benji Madden and has declared her love for him. By a coincidence that Hollywood publicists only dream about, former BFF Nicole Richie just had a child with Benji’s twin brother, Joel Madden.

The Hilton Political Satire

During the 2008 U.S. presidential election, Republican candidate John McCain released a campaign ad comparing his Democratic rival Barack Obama to Hilton and Britney Spears. In response, Will Ferrell's funnyordie.com released a spoof video in which Hilton announced her own presidential platform. As of August 9, 2008, the video has over 6 million views.
