Kim Smith motto | I’m so thankful to be able to travel to all these different places, but the best feeling in the world is to step off a plane on American soil. |
She was born on March 3, 1983—exactly one year after Jessica Biel arrived to earth (which is enough to make us believe in astrology). Raised in Odessa, Texas, Kim was a National Honor Society member and golf athlete at Permian High School, the school portrayed in the best-selling book and movie Friday Night Lights (which would lead to a TV show featuring the lovely Minka Kelly). Kim got into modeling after accompanying a friend to a Model Search of America contest, where she was asked by the director to enter the competition herself (at which point we’re guessing she said, “What, me, model?! But I’m only 5’9”, 118 pounds and gorgeous!”). After signing with Clipse Management in Dallas, she appeared in ads for Victoria’s Secret, Playtex (the lingerie, not the tampons), Abercrombie & Fitch and, most notably, Guess.
As far as the moving pictures, Kim has been featured in a pair of music videos for ’N Sync (the iPod staples Bye Bye Bye and It’s Gonna Be Me) and in Aerosmith’s video for Girls of Summer (and let’s hope she wasn’t selected because she reminded Steven Tyler of his daughter, Liv Tyler, because that would be creepy). She also had a cameo in National Lampoon’s Van Wilder (Tara Reid) and played a model (we know, big stretch) in Catwoman (Halle Berry). For our money, she was the second-best thing about the film.
Wait, can we even call that a film?
