Karen began her career as a model, but then decided to take on the much easier occupation of educating the youth of America. Quickly, she felt unfulfilled, and yearned for the more meaningful days of posing in bikinis.During a modeling competition, she was spotted by a talent scout for Playboy, and amazingly enough, he wasn't a pervert who had fake business cards made, but in fact an actual Playboy employee. She won a spot as a centerfold, and then, living out every young woman's dream and father's nightmare, became the Playmate of the year in 1998.Since her time as PMOTY, Karen migrated into fitness modeling and has hosted various unsuccessful shows. Her private life has been kept just that, private. Aside from being spotted dating actor Bruce Willis, she's been low profile. Currently she's trying to be a very serious actress. Seriously.
